FabEnCo Awards First LIFE Scholarship

FabEnCo, Inc., a leading manufacturer of self-closing safety gates, announced today that Walter Smith from Southeastern Oklahoma State University was the first recipient of the FabEnCo “LaCook Investment for Excellence” (LIFE) in Occupational Safety & Health Scholarship. Walter received his award during ASSE’s 120th Annual Conference & Exposition held in Atlanta, Georgia, in June.

Houston, TX - FabEnCo, Inc., a leading manufacturer of self-closing safety gates, announced today that Walter Smith from Southeastern Oklahoma State University was the first recipient of the FabEnCo “LaCook Investment for Excellence” (LIFE) in Occupational Safety & Health Scholarship. Walter received his award during ASSE’s 120th Annual Conference & Exposition held in Atlanta, Georgia, in June.

The endowment, established in 2012 by former FabEnCo CEO David LaCook to honor his father Hardy LaCook’s many contributions to the safety industry, annually awards a $4,000 scholarship to a student pursuing an associate, bachelor’s, master’s or PhD degree in the occupational safety, health and environmental (SH&E) field with priority given to ASSE Gulf Coast Chapter student members and/or ASSE Region III student members.
