NAGOYA, July 2 (Kyodo) — A Toyota Motor Corp. subsidiary on Monday launched a new model of the Coms one-seater electric car that can travel faster and longer per charge than the previous model launched in 2000.
Toyota Auto Body Co. said the new model requires about six hours of battery charge time at home, less than the previous model, can run about 50 kilometers per charge, and has a maximum speed of about 60 km per hour.
The lowest price for the new model is 668,000 yen and customers can receive government subsidies of up to 70,000 yen per vehicle for the purchase of environmentally friendly vehicles, the firm based in Kariya, Aichi Prefecture, said.
