ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A North Carolina air filter manufacturing company says it will put its northeast production facility in upstate New York, creating 180 new jobs.

State economic development officials say Flanders Corp. will invest $7 million in the Columbia County town of Greenport, near Albany.

The company will get $500,000 in state tax breaks over 10 years as part of the deal that will bring it back to New York, where it was founded in 1950.

Air filters made by Flanders are used in a variety of industries worldwide. It will take over a 195,000 square foot building vacant since a health care device company moved out in 2008.

The move was announced Tuesday.
