WALLKILL, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 47-year-old man has died after getting trapped between two rollers of a mattress-bagging machine at an upstate New York bedding factory.
Police tell the Times Herald-Record of Middletown that Jainarine Depoo of Wallkill was injured Tuesday afternoon at Corsicana Bedding in the Orange County town of Wallkill.
Police say Depoo was flown to Westchester Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Wallkill Police Chief Robert Hertman said Depoo's chest was compressed by the machine and he had to be removed by co-workers.
Police and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
