Court Allows Hawker Beechcraft To Pay Workers

Hawker Beechcraft said in a news release that it also received permission to pay all vendors and suppliers for goods and services delivered after the bankruptcy filing.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Hawker Beechcraft says a federal bankruptcy court has granted approval for the Wichita aircraft maker to continue paying its workers.

Friday's ruling from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York comes a day after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Hawker Beechcraft said in a news release that it also received permission to pay all vendors and suppliers for goods and services delivered after the bankruptcy filing. The requests were part of various procedural "first-day motions" granted Friday.

The company says it will use a commitment for $400 million in financing negotiated as part of its restructuring to meet those obligations.
