Firth Rixson Forgings To Create New GA Jobs

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal's office has announced that Firth Rixson Forgings LLC will expand its forged metal operation in Midway, and anticipates creating 75 to 100 new jobs in the southeast Georgia town. Deal said in a statement that Firth Rixson's Midway operation, which opened in January 2011, provides components for the aerospace industry.

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal's office has announced that Firth Rixson Forgings LLC will expand its forged metal operation in Midway, and anticipates creating 75 to 100 new jobs in the southeast Georgia town.

Deal said in a statement that Firth Rixson's Midway operation, which opened in January 2011, provides components for the aerospace industry.

Officials said the company anticipates breaking ground in January 2012 for the Georgia expansion, its first on the site.

Firth Rixson is a subsidiary of U.K.-based Firth Rixson Ltd.

Deal said the aerospace industry employs more than 80,000 workers in Georgia.
