Boeing Receives Order From Russia's Transaero

Boeing Co. has received an order from Transaero Airlines of Russia for four 787-8 aircraft, the company said Monday.

NEW YORK (AP) — Boeing Co. has received an order from Transaero Airlines of Russia for four 787-8 aircraft, the company said Monday.

The mid-size airplanes which the company calls Dreamliners are worth $744 million at list prices.

The buyer plans to use the planes for flights on Transaero's domestic and international routes.

Transaero, which made its debut in 1991, was Russia's first private airline. It was also the first Russian airline to use Boeing's aircraft and is now Russia's second-biggest airline.

Boeing said that it has more than 850 787s on order by 59 customers. Last week the company said that it delivered 137 commercial planes during the first quarter, including five 787s.

Boeing shares fell $1.04, or 1.4 percent, to $72.55 on premarket trading Monday. They have been trading near the high end of their 52-week range of $56.01 to $80.65.
