SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — ATK Aerospace Systems is opening a new facility to build commercial airframes and engines in Utah. The site is projected to create 800 jobs over the next 20 years in Davis County.

ATK spokesman George Torres says the more than 600,000 square-foot facility in Clearfield will produce aircraft composite structures and already has more than $1 billion in contracts to fulfill.

Torres says clients placing orders include Airbus and Rolls Royce.

Monday's opening ceremony will include speeches by Airbus president Barry Eccleston and members of Utah's congressional delegation.

Last year, the Governor's Office of Economic Development provided ATK a tax credit equal to 30 percent of the new tax revenue it generates — an incentive that could reach $19 million.
