MELBOURNE, Fla. (AP) — Harris Corp. said Monday that it has been awarded a $16 million follow-on contract by Lockheed Martin Corp. to supply more than 100 radio systems to the U.S. Army.
The communications and information technology company said the contract brings the total value of contracts to Harris under the Army's Warfighter Information Network - Tactical program to more than $200 million since 2002.
The radio systems offer line-of-sight networking within a larger communications system that includes satellite communications.
Harris shares rose $1.91, or 5.1 percent, to $39.60 amid a broad market rally that saw the Dow Jones industrial average rise 2.2 percent.
