RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — ABB Inc. is planning a $4.6 million expansion of its manufacturing facility in Virginia's Halifax County.
Gov. Bob McDonnell announced the expansion Wednesday in a news release. McDonnell says the expansion will create 15 jobs and preserve 140.
The facility produces liquid-cooled transformers for large utility, industrial and government users. It employs more than 400 workers.
McDonnell approved a $200,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund for the project. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission also approved a $600,000 grant.
