FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Federal labor officials want to impose $7,000 in fines against a Canadian company after the August death of a worker at a Fargo industrial park.
KFGO radio reports (http://bit.ly/oJXoOl ) that the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposed the fines last week.
Officials say 49-year-old Noren Ellingson sustained a traumatic brain injury in the workplace accident on Aug. 16, and later died at a Fargo hospital.
Ellingson was an employee of Buhler Industries, a Winnipeg-based company that manufactures and distributes agricultural equipment.
Officials say a metal bin was being loaded onto a truck when it slipped and landed on Ellingson.
The company has 15 days to contest the findings.
