CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Aviation electronic systems maker Rockwell Collins said Monday it has won a $160 million contract to update communications systems for U.S. Air Force jets that refuel aircraft.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa, company will update the flight management system, displays, data communications and surveillance systems of the KC-10 tankers to meet future air traffic control requirements, Rockwell Collins said in a statement.
The new systems will get the tankers to their destinations more quickly and allow them to operate in commercial air space across the globe, the statement said.
The statement did not say when the work will begin or how long the contract will last.
Shares of Rockwell Collins closed Monday at $57.38, down 3 cents.
