BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — A Bowling Green manufacturer has joined an elite group of Kentucky employers as it marked 5 million worker hours without a lost-time accident.
Sun Products Corp. received two awards from the state Labor Cabinet on Wednesday.
One is certification under the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program. Under this certification, a company is exempt for two years from scheduled Kentucky Occupational Safety and Health compliance inspections although it works with the agency to continue improvements.
The company also received the Governor's Safety and Health Award for reaching 5,087,143 hours worked without a lost-time accident. The record dates back to November 2007.
Sun Products makes and markets fabric care and dish care products. It is the 12th facility in the state to receive the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program certification.
