A small Czech brewer, Budejovicky Budvar, and the world's largest beer maker, AB InBev, are locked in a battle that has gone on for over a century. Each wants exclusive rights to the name Budweiser, and when Budvar rejected an AB InBev offer this week, it also refused to put forward a counteroffer.

Each wants exclusive rights to the name Budweiser, and when Budvar rejected an AB InBev offer this week, it also refused to put forward a counteroffer. Karen Couck, an AB Inbev spokesperson said: 

"Our concern is that coexistence on the U.K. market with the Budweiser brand will lead to consumer confusion. We want to make sure that when our customers order a Budweiser that they receive the clean, crisp taste of the global brand we have created."
