The online grocer Relay Foods has plans for a $735,000 expansion of its headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia. The company has committed to buying at least $350,000 worth of meats, produce and dairy products from Virginia producers over the next three years.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Online grocer Relay Foods plans to invest more than $735,000 in an expansion of its headquarters and fulfillment center in Charlottesville.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe says the expansion will create 25 jobs.

McAuliffe said Monday in a news release that Relay Foods has committed to buying at least $350,000 worth of meats, produce, dairy products and other foods from Virginia producers over the next three years.

The governor says the expansion will increase the company's sales of Virginia food items in the Mid-Atlantic by $3 million over the next three years.

McAuliffe approved a $50,000 grant from the Agriculture and Forestry Industries Development Fund to assist Charlottesville with the project.
