ConAgra Completes Oregon Potato Plant Expansion

Food giant ConAgra Foods Inc, popular for its Slim Jim and Chef Boyardee brands, has completed the $200 million expansion of its Lamb Weston frozen potato plant in Boardman, Oregon. The expansion will create more than 100 additional jobs.

BOARDMAN, Ore. (AP) — ConAgra Foods Inc. has completed a $200 million expansion of its Lamb Weston frozen potato plant in Boardman, Oregon.

The company said Friday the addition increases its capacity for making french fries and other frozen potato products, and will create more than 100 jobs.

The addition gives Lamb Weston five production lines in two plants in Boardman. ConAgra hopes to boost exports, and the site has easy access to the Port of Morrow.

ConAgra already employs 750 workers in Boardman and another 500 in Hermiston.
