BEL AIR, Md. (AP) — Harford County public schools have told parents that food served in the cafeterias of more than a dozen schools was recalled because of possible E. coli contamination.
Schools spokeswoman Teri Kranefeld said Friday that Rich Products notified the schools Wednesday evening that it had recalled its pepperoni pizzatas. The food had been served in some cafeterias on Wednesday.
Maryland public health officials say no one in the state has been sickened by the recalled products.
According to a notice on the USDA website, Rich Products Corp. of Buffalo, N.Y., recalled nearly 200,000 pounds of frozen foods on March 28. On Thursday, the company expanded the voluntary recall to include all items produced at its Waycross, Ga., plant with "Best By" dates ranging from Jan. 1, 2013 to Sept. 29, 2014
