Walmart China announced that the company will significantly increase its investment in food safety in upcoming years. The announcement was made to kick off China's National Food Safety Week, with the launch of the campaign, "Food Safety: We all have a role to play."

Walmart is planning to introduce the “SPARK” (Sustainable Paperless Auditing and Record Keeping) system to China to monitor food storage temperature. This technology has been used successfully in Walmart’s US business. (Walmart China)
