ConAgra announced the deal with previous owner, Unilever, in July. Unilever said that the sale was a part of a broader initiative to get out of the frozen foods business.

Unilever PLC, based in the Netherlands, is a consumer products company with products ranging from Degree deodorant to Ragu pasta sauce. Unilever's U.S. shares gained 12 cents to $35.71 in afternoon trading on Monday.

ConAgra Foods Inc., based in Omaha, Neb., owns food brands ranging from Banquet to Healthy Choice and Slim Jim. Its stock was flat at $24.73.
