MILWAUKEE (AP) — MillerCoors says it is laying off more than two dozen salaried workers in Milwaukee.

Spokesman Jonathan Stern said in an email Monday that the company is restructuring its salaried workforce to improve efficiency, cut costs and increase speed to market.

He says about 200 people are being let go, 27 of them in Milwaukee. The company also is eliminating 160 open positions.

Stern says the jobs represent 2 percent of the company's total workforce and 6 percent of its salaried workers.

Denver-based MillerCoors was formed by the 2008 merger of Milwaukee-based Miller Brewing Co. and Molson Coors Brewing Co., of Golden, Colo.
