The city of Irwindale, Calif., filed a lawsuit asking a judge to stop production at the Huy Fong Foods Sriracha plant, claiming that the chili odor coming from the factory is a public nuisance. Huy Fong initially cooperated with the city, but talks have broken down after company representatives denied the odor problem. Irwindale City Attorney Fred Galante said:
"If they fix it and the odor problems stop, we don't need this order; but so far the odor complaints continue."
