Va. Salsas, Peanuts Expected to Bring in 28K Buyers at Food Show

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services says at least 31 companies that participate in the Virginia's Finest trademark program will exhibit at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City. Foods including cured meats and confections will be displayed.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Preserves, confections, salsas and other Virginia specialty foods are on display this week at a trade show in New York City.

The Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services says at least 31 companies that participate in the Virginia's Finest trademark program will exhibit at the Summer Fancy Food Show.

The trade show began Sunday and runs through Tuesday. The department says about 28,000 buyers are expected to attend.

Other Virginia specialty foods featured at the show include peanuts and peanut products, apples and apple products, biscotti, cured meats, popcorn, chips and crackers.
