LONDON (AP) — British lawmakers have expressed anger that Kraft Food Inc. Chief Executive Irene Rosenfeld has refused to appear for the third time before an inquiry into the U.S. company's takeover of chocolate maker Cadbury.
Several lawmakers from the cross-party Business Select Committee on Tuesday grilled three other senior executives, including executive vice president Marc Firestone, about Rosenfeld's absence.
Nadhim Zahawi, a member of the Conservative Party, which leads the government coalition, asked whether the Kraft CEO was "big enough" to answer questions directly. Firestone stressed Rosenfeld's commitment to the Cadbury business, but noted her busy schedule.
The committee last year accused Kraft of acting "irresponsibly and unwisely" during the takeover.
