Dairy Processor To Invest $97M In New Plant

COLUMBUS, N.Y. (AP) — Agro Farma, maker of Chobani yogurt, is getting $16 million in state incentives for its new dairy processing facility in Chenango County. Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the expansion will create 450 new jobs and retain 386 existing ones. Agro Farma is investing $97 million to build and equip the facility in the town of Columbus, 46 miles southeast of Syracuse.

COLUMBUS, N.Y. (AP) — Agro Farma, maker of Chobani yogurt, is getting $16 million in state incentives for its new dairy processing facility in Chenango County.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the expansion will create 450 new jobs and retain 386 existing ones. Agro Farma is investing $97 million to build and equip the facility in the town of Columbus, 46 miles southeast of Syracuse. The company has spent $115 million in property and plant improvements over the past five years.

Headquartered in Norwich, Agro Farma is New York's largest dairy manufacturer. The company uses milk from New York dairy farms to produce Chobani, the No. 1 brand of yogurt in the U.S.
