SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Diamond Foods Inc. said Tuesday that it is in discussions with the state of Wisconsin, the southeastern city of Beloit and others about a possible plant expansion there.
It was not clear if the company already had a plant in Beloit. It did not immediately return a request seeking comment.
Diamond Foods said it is looking at factors including financial incentives to help it decide where to add additional manufacturing capacity.
The company said it will expand production to meet growing demand for its Kettle Brand products.
The company, based in San Francisco, said it expects to decide later this fall.
Shares fell 15 cents to $40.80 in afternoon trading Tuesday.
