LE MARS, Iowa (AP) — A pork product producer will open a facility in Le Mars in northwestern Iowa.
The Daily Sentinel newspaper in Le Mars reports Tuesday that North American Co-Pack chief financial officer Bret Peterson confirmed the decision, saying "we are coming to town." The newspaper reports that company leaders anticipate about 50 jobs will be created in the first year and about 100 jobs in the long term.
The Iowa Department of Economic Development says the company will provide processed pork products to retail, food service and industrial markets with a focus on sliced meats and other ready-to-eat food processing.
The company received a $255,000 award from the department in September.
