ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Officials are warning consumers about potential E. coli contamination in raw milk sold by the Hartmann Dairy Farm near the south-central Minnesota town of Gibbon.
The Minnesota Department of Health said Wednesday it has linked three cases of E. coli to unpasteurized milk from the dairy. Officials are urging anyone who recently purchased milk from the business, which is also known as M.O.M.'s, to get rid of the milk and not drink it.
The department also says consumers should not eat cheese, ice cream or other dairy products from the farm because they also may have been made from unpasteurized milk.
Minnesota law prohibits most raw milk sales, except for occasional purchases directly at farms.
Three people have been hospitalized with illnesses linked to milk from the farm. A fourth case is under investigation.
