COMMERCE, Calif. (AP) — Sterling Pacific Meat Co., which is based in Commerce, has recalled more than 3,500 pounds of ground beef products that might be contaminated with E. coli.

The Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall Thursday. No illnesses have been reported.

The products were produced on May 18 and distributed to wholesalers who sold them to restaurants in California and Arizona.

The ground beef patties were sold under the Fatburger and Stock Yards brands.

E. coli is a potentially deadly germ that can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration and, in the most severe cases, kidney failure.
