Cilantro Recalled Due To Salmonella Fears

OXNARD, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California company is recalling one lot of cilantro because it may be contaminated with salmonella. Pablo's Produce in Oxnard announced the recall Wednesday. The recalled cilantro was sold between Nov. 24 and Dec. 2 and has a white twist tie with the words "Pablo's Produce of USA" in red and green writing.

OXNARD, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California company is recalling one lot of cilantro because it may be contaminated with salmonella.

Pablo's Produce in Oxnard announced the recall Wednesday.

The recalled cilantro was sold between Nov. 24 and Dec. 2 and has a white twist tie with the words "Pablo's Produce of USA" in red and green writing.

The company says the contamination was detected in a routine surveillance sample. No illnesses have been reported.

Salmonella poisoning is one of the most common foodborne illnesses but can be dangerous for those with weak immune systems such as infants and the elderly.

Symptoms of salmonella poisoning can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever.
