PITTSBURGH (AP) — Two more businessmen associated with the massive $800 million fraud scheme at a defunct western Pennsylvania soft drink company have been ordered to spend five years in prison.
Former Le-Nature's Inc. Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Podlucky and North Carolina businessman Donald Pollinger both received sentences Tuesday well below federal guidelines in return for their cooperation in the case.
Podlucky and Pollinger pleaded guilty to bank fraud as part of the investigation into the shuttered Latrobe company's finances.
Podlucky's brother and Le-Nature's CEO Gregory Podlucky received a 20-year sentence for masterminding the scheme that bilked lenders and investors out of millions and forced the company into bankruptcy in 2006. Another former executive received 15 years.
Sentencings are still to come for Gregory Podlucky's wife and son on money laundering charges.
