HOPEWELL, Va. (AP) — A partner in a revived ethanol plant in Hopewell plans to begin grinding corn for the operation this month.
Scolular Company will procure corn, operate grain facilities on the site and market a major byproduct.
The Progress-Index (https://bit.ly/1kkL617 ) reports that Scolular is in the process of buying corn and obtaining contracts.
Scolular is partnering with Vireol Bio Energy LLC, which plans to invest $26.2 million to begin production at the plant. The operation will create 72 jobs.
Osage Bio Energy completed the plant but decided to abandon it because of unfavorable market conditions.
