Public Hearing Scheduled For Gas Plant Expansion

North Dakota regulators have scheduled a public hearing to discuss the proposed expansion of the Robinson Lake Gas Plant near New Town.

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota regulators have scheduled a public hearing to discuss the proposed expansion of the Robinson Lake Gas Plant near New Town.

The state's Public Service Commission will host the April 10 meeting in Stanley.

The plant sits in 23 acres and is owned by Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation. It was built in 2007 to process gas from oil production.

The proposed project would put the plant's production level at more than 100 million cubic feet per day. The construction would include the modification and possible installation of underground piping, above ground piping and compression.

Regulators say the hearing will allow the operator to explain the proposed expansion and answer commissioners' questions. The commission will also listen to comments from the public.
