BAY POINT, Calif. (AP) — Officials say a 26-year-old man has died after being crushed in a machine at a Northern California manufacturing plant.
Cal-OSHA spokeswoman Erika Monterroza told the Contra Costa Times that David Eleidjian, of Antioch, was operating a mixing machine at Henkel Corp. in Bay Point when he was caught and crushed in the machine a little after 11 a.m. Monday.
Monterroza says Eleidjian's legs were amputated and that he died from his injuries late Monday afternoon.
Cal-OSHA is investigating both Henkel and Tennessee-based HR Comp LLC because Eleidjian was working at the plant as a temporary employee of the Tennessee company.
The agency has up to six months to complete its investigation.
Henkel Corp., based in Dusseldorf, Germany, makes adhesives and other products.
