The submersible Plasgear, billed as the industry's first thermoplastic gear operator, is constructed of composite plastic with black urethane coating. It will not corrode or rust when exposed to harsh chemicals. Available in sizes from 1-1/2 to 14 in., the new plastic gearbox is suitable for use in applications with severe chemicals and seawater. It is standard on all 1-1/2 to 14 in. Type 57 butterfly valves or can be supplied without the valve.
