TORRINGTON, Wyo. (AP) — Federal regulators say Wyoming Ethanol LLC will pay $49,000 to settle allegations that it didn't properly report toxic substances at its plant in Torrington or have a tough enough risk management program.
The Environmental Protection Agency says the settlement stems from an inspection in May, when inspectors found alleged deficiencies in the plant's risk management plan that was meant to prevent releases of toxic or flammable chemicals and to respond to any accidental releases.
The EPA said Thursday that the company has agreed to the settlement and certifies that it is now in compliance. Regulators described Wyoming Ethanol as cooperative in correcting alleged violations.
