DuPont is beginning production of a high-performance material that the company believes will offer performance breakthroughs in a range of rubber-based products. Production is set to take place at the company's R&D center in Kingston, Ontario. The new material, a composite of Kevlar pulp and an elastomer, will be used for automotive, motorcycle and bicycle tires; hoses and belts; seals and gaskets; rubber-covered rolls; pump liners; diaphragms and molded goods.
