The Turbomachinery Laboratory at Texas A&M University is offering a short course on centrifugal compressor operations in February and April. Titled “Centrifugal Compressor Operations for 21st Century Users,” it addresses issues dealing with centrifugal compressors and gives both practical and innovative solutions to these issues. It also offers benchmark practices to improve equipment reliability, an introduction to centrifugal compressor systems, and an examination of lateral and torsional rotor dynamics. Dates are Feb. 20-24 in San Diego, CA, and April 24-28 in Houston, TX. Instructors are industry representatives, and four CEU credits are awarded for course completion. The course is aimed at operating technicians, maintenance professionals, project engineers, reliability engineers, managers, and others who come into contact with centrifugal compressors and have an interest in achieving best-of-class equipment life and performance.
