Bayer Stresses the Importance of R & D

Bayer is investing $2.4 billion in R&D this year. "This is the biggest R&D budget of any chemical and pharmaceutical company in Germany," said Werner Wenning at a press forum in Leverkusen, Germany. "One of the principal keys to success is research. Here we must exploit our potential to the full and consistently translate the results of our research into new products." Bayer's research activities in the MaterialScience Division have focused on new applications, environmentally sustainable production methods, and customized solutions.
