Urumqi Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Chinese energy major PetroChina, has received approval from the central government to build a world-scale aromatics complex in western China.

Urumqi Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Chinese energy major PetroChina, has received approval from the central government to build a world-scale aromatics complex in western China. The company has started talks with licensors and plans to start the project in 2008. The project would be built in two phases with the first phase on stream in the second half of 2007.
