New polyolefins capacities, which have more than doubled production in south China, could slow down imports in the first quarter of next year, say industry sources. The impact of the new capacities should be fully felt in the first quarter of 2007 when the new facilities are fully operational. New high-density polyethylene units in south China could also have a strong impact on imports since the region was previously not producing this product.
