DuPont Commits to Eliminate PFOA from Consumer Products

DuPont will remove perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) from its products by 2015 as part of a multi-company and international effort to eliminate PFOA entirely, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced. EPA said it is asking seven other companies that produce or use PFOA to join DuPont in a 10-year plan to remove PFOA from consumer products. The other firms are 3M/Dyneon, Arkema, AGC Chemicals/Asahi Glass, Ciba Specialty Chemicals, Clariant, Daikin and Solvay Solexis.
