The Skinny on Fat Teflon PTFE Tape
Samples are available of Fat Teflon PTFE tape, which has pressure-sensitive adhesive on one side. Thicker than standard Teflon tape, it's offered in thicknesses from 0.02 to 0.125 inches. A non-reinforced skived Teflon PTFE tape from CS Hyde Co. in Lake Villa, IL, it's specifically designed for applications where thin tapes are not enough. Fat Teflon tape boasts superior insulating strength, a non-stick surface and resistance to temperatures to 300°F as well as excellent release and dielectric strength.
