Costco has begun replacing some of its plastic clamshells used for product packaging with Natralock, a new product made by MeadWestvaco of Richmond, VA. Since its key component is renewable paperboard, Natralock is kinder to the environment. Plastic clamshells, a standard for security packaging, have limited recyclability.

Atlas Copco

Atlas Copco's Oil-free Air division says its Z Series oil-free rotary screw air compressors have been TÜV certified ISO 8573-1 Class 0. Risk of contamination by oil is effectively eliminated during food and beverage processing, pharmaceuticals manufacturing and packaging, automotive paint spraying and powder coating as well as textile manufacturing. The company's main production center is in Antwerp, Belgium.

Monitor Technologies, Elburn, IL, has announced ATEX and CSA certifications for its Flexar guided wave radar continuous level measurement product line. ATEX certification is Ex II 1/2 GD T75 ... 150C. CSA certification includes Class I, Division 1 and 2, Group B, C and D as well as Class II, Division 1 and 2, Groups E, F and G. The approvals allow guided wave radar technology to be extended to areas where hazardous and explosive vapors and dust exist.
