LAGOS, Nigeria (AP) — A Nigerian government agency says 95 people have died after a fuel tanker caught fire and exploded.

A spokesman for the emergency management agency said Thursday most of the victims rushed to the truck to scoop fuel in Okobe, a town in the oil-rich Rivers State. Yushau Shuaib added at least 18 others were injured.

The West African nation of Nigeria is a top exporter of crude to the U.S. and other countries.
