Future Facilities North America (Future Facilities NA), a leading provider of data center design and operational management software, today announced that CBRE's Gary Cane will lead a discussion on how to mitigate lost data center capacity using a predictive modeling methodology at Data Center Dynamics Converged San Francisco at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis on Tuesday, July 17th.

At 10:15 a.m., Gary Cane, Associate Director at CBRE, will give a presentation titled How to Mitigate Lost Capacity in a Data Center Utilizing a Predictive Methodology. Based on an upcoming white paper, Mr. Cane will discuss a predictive methodology, that when deployed, can help ensure that data center white space is efficiently managed from a capacity, electrical, hardware delivery and energy efficiency perspective. The methodology can be used all the way from the design phase through the entire life cycle of the data center. Additionally, Mr. Cane will describe the benefits of Future Facilities' Virtual Facility and its predictive analysis tools in data center operation.

The Virtual Facility allows data center owners and operators to create a virtual test facility that predicts and visualizes the outcome of power and cooling decisions before critical IT equipment is installed. Employing this method enables better critical cooling and power decisions, extended lifespan of critical equipment and a more efficient data center.

"A data center can lose up to 40% of its electrical loading capacity due to inefficient use of space, power or cooling resources. The only way to synchronize IT resource utilization is to simulate and optimize before implementation," said Sherman Ikemoto, General Manager, Future Facilities NA.
