-- The Federation of Gujarat Industries presented the Certificate of Merit for 'Export Performance & Promotion' to Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited for its outstanding export services to the nation at the FGI Awards for Excellence - 2011 presentation ceremony. The award was conferred to GACL by the Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendrabhai Modi, who was also the Chief Guest of the ceremony. The award function was held on 10th September 2012 at the FGI Business Centre, Vadodara. On behalf of the company, Shri M. S. Dagur, IAS, Managing Director of GACL received the distinguished honour. This is the second FGI 'Export Performance & Promotion' reward for GACL. The first acknowledgement was bestowed upon the in the year 2009.
This award reinforced GACL's superior export strategy. Previously GACL has also won the CHEMEXCIL AWARD for Outstanding Export Performance from Export Promotion Council, set-up by Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Govt. of India, recognized GACL's contribution to Exports in the years 2005 - 06, 2008 - 09 and 2009-10.
'Export Performance & Promotion' award is of great significance as The Federation of Gujarat Industries is one of the oldest, active, socially conscious Industrial Associations in the country. The Federation was established under the guidance of the visionary and progressive ruler of erstwhile Baroda State, Shrimant Sayajirao Gaekwad, in the year 1918.
