PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Diversified chemical company FMC Corp. said Wednesday it acquired Phytone Ltd., a United Kingdom-based producer of natural colors, for an undisclosed sum.
Phytone's natural products and formulas are used by customers around the world in the food, beverage, personal care and nutrition markets, the company said.
FMC said the addition is part of its ongoing plan to expand its new natural colors product lineup, adding that it expects the natural colors market to surpass $1 billion by 2015.
Phytone's manufacturing, development labs and headquarters office are all located in the United Kingdom, FMC said.
Shares of Philadelphia-based FMC fell 11 cents to $51.46 in morning trading.
