KINGSPORT, Tenn., August 13, 2012 -- Greg Nelson, chief technology officer for Eastman Chemical Company, is featured in the September 2012 issue of Discover Magazine.

Nelson participated in a February 2012 panel discussion sponsored by the Chemical Heritage Foundation and Discover Magazine that brought together experts in materials science from companies like DuPont, Dow, Styron, ExxonMobil and Arkema. Highlights of the conversation are included as part of an article titled, Building a better world (one atom at a time).

Advanced materials are a real point of pride for the chemical industry, said Neil Gussman, strategic communications and media relations manager for the Chemical Heritage Foundation.

Eastman seemed to be the perfect example of the fascinating twists and turns an advanced materials story can take, Gussman said.

The September issue of Discover Magazine is available on newsstands and e-readers now.
