Acer Seeks Boost from Windows 8, Ultrathin Laptops

Taiwanese personal-computer maker Acer expects its profit margins to recover more quickly with the launch of new Windows-based devices and ultrathin laptops.

TAIPEI--Taiwanese personal-computer maker Acer Inc. expects its profit margins to recover more quickly with the launch of new Windows-based devices and ultrathin laptops, but it will be at least two years before the company is able to return to its more profitable days in 2010, its chairman said.
