WILMINGTON, Del., March 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- DuPont is among the world's Top 50 most admired companies, according to a study released on March 1 by FORTUNE magazine. DuPont is no. 37 on FORTUNE's "Most Admired Companies" list — widely considered among the most definitive report cards on corporate reputation. DuPont has advanced six spots from the previous year for the second consecutive year and, since 2009, DuPont has progressed 15 spots. This year, DuPont also achieved the No. 1 ranking in its industry sector, the only company in its sector named to FORTUNE's Top 50 "Most Admired Companies" list. The results, which are available online, will be in the March 19 edition of FORTUNE.

"This wonderful recognition underscores the commitment of our 70,000 employees in advancing our core values and how we are using science in making a difference in the world," said DuPont Chair and CEO Ellen Kullman. "DuPont is collaborating with partners globally and bringing innovations closer to local markets to address some of the world's most complex challenges driven by the growing global population. With the breadth and depth of our science, DuPont is developing transformative products and services that will help ensure a more secure food supply, find new energy sources and protect people where they work and live."

Among the key attributes of reputation used by FORTUNE to rate the most admired companies in each industry, DuPont was ranked first in: Innovation, People Management, Social Responsibility and Quality of Products/Services.

FORTUNE's "Most Admired Companies" list is widely considered the definitive measure of corporate performance and reputation. To identify and rank the most admired companies, FORTUNE and its partner, The Hay Group, surveyed approximately 15,000 senior executives, outside directors from the FORTUNE 1,000 and Global 500 companies and other major non-U.S. companies and financial analysts.
